Why we started
When did it become normal not to know what is really in our food?
It began, as most honest things do, at the dinner table. One evening, talking about food the way Indian families always do, we found ourselves asking a question we couldn’t shake.
Spices. Oils. Ghee. The essentials every Indian kitchen runs on. And yet, somewhere along the way, we had all quietly accepted that trusting the label was the best we could do. Adulteration, mislabelling, hidden shortcuts dressed up in premium packaging. It had become so common that questioning it felt almost unusual. We found ourselves wondering whether the products in our own kitchen were genuinely what they claimed to be, or simply marketed well enough for us to believe it.
That one conversation didn’t end when the evening did. It stayed with us for weeks. The more we thought about it, the more we realised this wasn’t just our worry. It was something almost every household in India quietly experiences, without ever saying it out loud. That realisation became the reason GetPured exists today.
